The 2019 Hereward Relay and Ultra will be on Sunday 24th November.
The Hereward relay was first run in 1998 when 14 teams took part. The race starts in Peterborough and follows (as far as possible) the Hereward Way for over 38 miles to Ely crossing over bridleways, fields, bridges and tracks and therefore unsuitable for wheelchair users. Teams consist of four members who each run one stage.
The 2019 momento will be a stage specific medal, with similar medals for Ultra runners and Volunteers. Cash prizes for first three teams, first three all ladies teams and for individual stage winners.
Stage 1: Peterborough – Whittlesey 6.9 miles
Stage 2: Whittlesey – March 10.3 miles
Stage 3: March – Welney 10.9 miles
Stage 4: Welney – Ely 10.9 miles
This year we have 8 teams of 4 runners so feel free to click HERE to apply for a place this year. June 30th entries are closed and the teams will be picked the following week. This is a fantastic event to get some miles under the belt across some of the Cambridgeshire’s iconic Towns.
